Do's and Don'ts of LVT/Laminate Care

Do:
  • Sweep, dust mop, or vacuum regularly to prevent grit from scratching the floor.
  • Mop with a pH-neutral cleaner designed for vinyl floors.
  • Use non-staining felt pads under furniture legs.
  • Wipe up spills immediately to prevent any potential issues.
  • Use doormats at entrances to minimize tracked-in dirt.
Don't:
  • Use wax, polish, or "mop and shine" products, which leave a dull film.
  • Use abrasive scouring pads or harsh, abrasive cleaners.
  • Use rubber-backed mats, as they can stain the vinyl over time.
  • Flood the floor with water when cleaning.
  • Drag heavy furniture across the floor without protection.
